Range, speed and flight time are measured on different bases and do not describe what an aircraft can achieve on the same trip. Range is how far the aircraft flies before refueling, in nautical miles, under the manufacturer’s stated conditions. Those conditions mostly assume fewer passengers than the cabin holds, and each card gives its distance basis.
Speed is NetJets’ published high-speed cruise, and no aircraft flies its longest range at its highest speed. Flight times are NetJets estimates for two passengers at long-range cruise in still air, not trip durations. Luggage space is volume in cubic feet, not the weight the aircraft can carry. Where a card gives an illustrated hold, it is NetJets’ count of small bags, large bags and golf bags.
NBAA IFR reserves means the range figure holds back reserve fuel under the National Business Aviation Association’s instrument-flight planning assumptions. Weather, luggage, routing, airport and reserve fuel all change the distance on a real trip. We therefore assess the client’s longest regular leg at the usual load.
